Domaine Mas de Martin Cuvee Roi Patriote, 2007.
A little bit of many things---Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Grenache, Tannat, Cabernet Franc and Syrah---form this pleasing, round, soft quaffer from the Languedoc.
The Revue de Vin de France has classified this domain as one of the top in the Languedoc. School teacher Christian Mocci gave up his scholarly calling to travel the world making wine, including a stint at Bordeaux’s Lynch Bages, before settling in the region. He planted his vineyards and renovated old barns to create the winery in the early 90' and did his first estate bottling in 1998. The vineyards are farmed biodynamically.
