You love them, or you don’t. We do. Some of the wine press do (and many do not), and many of you seem to. Vintage 2000 rosé? It’s true, and it’s true that this is the latest release from the Rioja’s legendary Lopez de Heredia winery.

Domaine Rabasse Charavin Cotes du Rhone, 2007
The Kevins have had the pleasure of visiting this winery during a whirlwind tour of La Belle France. Rabasse-Charavin produces a range of fine wines from its own vineyards spread out over the communes of Cairanne, Rasteau and Violes. The property is run by Corinne Couturier, who took it over from her father, Robert Charavin, in 1985. Couturier is one of the leading personalities in the southern Rhone, known for her serious, concentrated, traditionally-made wines from old vines. This Cotes du Rhone Rouge is made from 85% Grenache and 15% Cinsault. It has an intense nose of raspberries and black currants, followed by soft, succulent fruit flavors and a long, liquoricy finish. This is a super Côtes du Rhône, perfect with grilled steaks or lamb chops off the grill.
