Stuzzichini & Giuseppe Vajra: A Piedmontese happy hour
Stuzzichini & Giuseppe Vajra
The last time Giuseppe Vajra from Piedmont’s G. D. Vajra winery visited Pastaworks he was encased in a leg cast, awaiting surgery, from a skiing accident. This was way before the Vancouver winter Olympics.
Giuseppe is returning to Portland this coming weekend and we have been promised that he will be kept off the slopes until after his happy hour with you @ Evoe.
Evoe’s Kevin Gibson will prepare typical Piedmontese snacks---stuzzichini---and Giuseppe will pour selected wines from his family's estate. This is an informal event, meant to replicate the snack bars of Torino where you wander in, order a glass or two of wine and select snacks from the bar counter. Giuseppe will be happy to talk about the wines, but this is neither a wine class or formal dinner. It's a Piedmontese version of happy hour.
Friday, February 19, 5-7 PM @ Evoe ( 3735 SE Hawthorne). Piedmontese snacks with Giuseppe Vajra from Piedmont’s G.D. Vajra winery. Snacks $1 each, selected Vajra wines by the glass, $5 (bonus pours also available for additional $). No reservations, and Evoe's regular menu will close @ 4 PM to prepare for the event.

Many of Pastaworks' events are informal tastings, open to all without any fees. Some events are limited in size and have an associated fee, and for these we ask that you call or email at least two days prior to the class to let us know if you plan to attend. Pre-payment guarantees your spot. Refunds or credits only if we cancel because the event is under-booked. Please call 503-232-1010 or email rsvp@pastaworks.com for reservations or with questions. If you anticipate wanting to purchase wine after an evening class, please bring a check or gift certificate, as the registers will be closed when the class is over. All classes/events are held at the Hawthorne store unless otherwise indicated, and begin at 7 PM unless otherwise indicated.
